My father has misplaced his citizenship certificate & only has an expired ID card. How can he get another one?
He has been a US citizen for over 30 years and only has an expired state ID card (2yrs expired). I'm wondering how he goes about getting another certificate of citizenship and how much it will cost him.

- You will need to file an application to replace the lost naturalization certificate or the certificate of citizenship. Click on the link below to determine the difference between each. Regardless, he would have to prove that he is actually an American citizen, such as a passport, and approved N-400, N-600, or a birth certificate. In addition, he may also obtain a passport in conjunction with applying for a new certificate. Good luck.
- He files an N565 http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=a910cac09aa5d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD
