What is the waiting time for a florida id card?

i need a florida state id card but i was told it takes three weeks by a friend of mine, i dont have another state id so help me please.

1. usually 30 days if not Citizen , but a resident
2. I know NY for a LICENSE it's almost a month's waiting time, but they give you a temporary one the day you apply for it, that way you have a form of ID. I'm going to assume it's a similar concept if you were applying for a state ID, and probably from state to state is similar to. Best to call up though and ask, but I don't see how they can leave you with no ID.
3. it does not take any time at all, go in to the nearest dmv and tell them you need a fla id card you pay 15 dollars and you get it right then and there with the proper information and if only you are a fla resident, i did it for my boys and myself when i had to turn my ny license to fla license.
