  1. I don't really believe you are an officer. But hey, whatever. My department doesn't allow you to keep your gun. However, we do have a retired badge and ID card. They look the same as our normal stuff, but they have "Retired" placed on them. My department allows retired officers to qualify at the range if they want to carry a personal weapon and be covered by HR 218.
  2. I also don't believe you are a police officer. When an officer retires, they are issued a badge that simple says Retired on it.The badge looks the same as our regular badges,it just says retired.
  3. Under HR 218 retirees must have an ID from their old department or state for at least their first year. It is dated. After that they fill out paper work if the want to be armed and after showing they meet the regs (min. 15 yrs full time, eligible for pension, etc) and the range qualify the issuing agency gives them an ID that must be shown with their retirement ID. Whether a department issues a badge is up to them. On retirement I got 4. One official in my departments old style that just said retired, one official in my departments new style that has my last number on it (had to pay for both), one from my sergeants union and one from the patrol officers union where I had been an officer before promotion. The badges don't count for nothing as far as carrying. The dated ID is what counts.
  4. That is up to the agency. Our department lets you keep your last badge. You will get an ID when you retire. HR 218 allows retired officers to concealed carry anywhere in the US, but you would need to show an official ID, not a badge that has none of your personal information on it. I've never heard of a department that lets you keep your gun. When we upgrade, our department gives us the option to purchase our gun at the trade-in price, but they are never given away.
  5. Well nick, I don't think you are law enforcement. If you were, why would you ask for links of retired badges & ID cards? Call your HR bureau for information. That is as much info as I'm going to give you
