What's the difference between a Driver License and Identification Card?
I know a Driver License is for driving, but what is an ID Card for? Can you have both?

- about 30 bucks
- An ID card is a form of identification that you can get if you do not have a driver's license. For example, if you have never learned to drive, and have no interest in doing so (or are unable to), you can use an identification card when ID is required when writing checks, picking up airline tickets, and applying for credit.
- A state ID card is an official state ID people can obtain if they don't drive. They require the same types of documentation to obtain. You need one or the other. Getting both forms is permissible but redundant.
- I have a drivers license from one state and an ID from another state, it is not redundant. There is a purpose. And it is legal. I'm sorry, but there is a reason to have both. If one of You libs can figure it out, I will never get on Yahoo again. And I'm A conservative so I mean it.
- 1.allows you the right to drive a vehicle in any state, the other will not allow you the right to drive in any state.
- OMG what a question
- My father is blind so he has never had a driver's license. There are times when he needs an official picture ID to prove who he is. He shows his state ID card. In my state (Ohio) we cannot have both an Ohio driver's license and an Ohio state ID card.
